Learn more about a newborn photography session at ATP Studio

How old should my baby be at the time of the newborn session?

For the best results, it's ideal if your baby is under two weeks old. April specializes in photographing newborns between days 5 and 10. During this specific period, babies are usually very sleepy, easy to pose, less fussy, and have settled into nursing routines. As newborns grow older (beyond 10 days), they become more difficult to pose and may develop baby acne, along with longer periods of wakefulness. Therefore, scheduling the newborn session early is crucial for capturing those precious moments.

However, if you have an older newborn, feel free to reach out to April. She frequently photographs older babies and will do her best to accommodate last-minute bookings whenever her schedule permits.

Where will my baby be photographed?

The newborn sessions are exclusively held within the ATP private studio located in North Richland Hills. You'll have full access to April's wide array of outfits, wraps, buckets, headbands, bonnets, and other accessories to ensure your newborn session is a success. Since newborns photograph best in their natural state, there's no need for you to concern yourself with outfits or any additional preparations. This is a time for parents to unwind and enjoy the experience!

Can siblings be a part of the session?

Yes! We enthusiastically welcome the involvement of siblings and parents in the session. We understand the significance of welcoming a new member into the family, and we cherish the moments when the entire family participates. Your presence adds warmth and richness to the session, creating cherished memories for years to come.

When should I book my newborn session?

We highly recommend booking your newborn portrait session before your baby is born, whenever feasible. Many families secure their due dates during the second trimester or early in the third trimester to ensure space in April's calendar for capturing your baby at the ideal age (typically between 5 and 10 days old).

April acknowledges that due dates are estimates. She will reserve time surrounding your due date to guarantee a slot in her schedule. Upon your baby's arrival, you can reach out to April to arrange the actual session date.

In order to provide top-notch service to each client, April limits the number of portrait sessions booked per month. It's advisable to schedule newborn sessions as early as possible to secure preferred dates. April will strive to accommodate late bookings whenever her schedule allows.

How long does a newborn session last?

Each session is guided by your baby's cues, ensuring we work at their pace. Ample time is set aside for feeding, diaper changes, and comforting your baby—sessions are never hurried! April dedicates up to 4 hours for each session, although typically they last around 2-3 hours. This allows for a relaxed and comfortable experience, prioritizing your baby's needs throughout the session.

What safety precautions do you take?

The well-being and safety of newborns are April's utmost priorities.

Drawing on years of experience working with young children, April is well aware of the delicate nature of a newborn's immune system. She takes meticulous precautions to guarantee the cleanliness and sanitation of her tools and props. In instances of illness affecting either the photographer or the client, sessions will be rescheduled to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.

April is unwavering in her commitment to never compromise a baby's safety during a session. She refrains from posing babies in unsafe manners or on unstable props. All poses are designed to be simple and comfortable, prioritizing the well-being of your precious newborn.
